IMG_2795.pngVocal Performance:

Vocal students will study the technical aspects of singing as well as various musical styles for a balanced vocal education. These styles include Classical, Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Pop/Rock.

Through these various styles we will also explore a unique aspect of vocal music— language. Students will sing in the four most predominant classical languages (Italian, German, French, English) and learn proper pronunciation as well as how to do their own translations.

Many students will work on NYSSMA solos, audition repertoire for upcoming shows, or other musical needs as they arise.

Piano:

Piano is an amazing way for young students to gain musical literacy. Whether students gravitate toward Classical Compositions, want to learn to improvise over a Jazz Standard, or learn the intro to Bohemian Rhapsody, Piano is a beautiful instrument that is fit for all ages and levels.

Drum-Set and Percussion:

I began taking drum lesson in the 4th grade when we started doing School Band. I immediately fell in love and began taking private lessons. During a summen while studying at Ithaca College I went to Ghana, Africa to take Singing/Drumming/Dance lessons. Now, I play in the pit for various local musical theater productions, as well as local Funk/Rock/Alt band Tom’s House. Drums are another beautiful instrument for any age or ability. Students will learn to play along to their favorite Rock songs, learn to play collaboratively with other musicians, and learn new rhythmic patterns for many instruments from different cultures such as West African or Latin American.

Guitar/Ukulele:

Guitar and Ukulele students will learn basic chords as well as  how to sing while playing their instrument. Depending on the students musical interests, we may cover Classical guitar, Cowboy Chord strumming, Bluegrass Flat-Picking, or soloing on acoustic or electric guitar. Keep in mind that only beginner - intermediate guitar lessons are offered.

I also offer students a unique opportunity to take a private lesson in musicianship such as Ear Training, Music Theory, or Songwriting.
